Very very cool, but when it boils down to it Its basically just a lemur, only you need to carry round some extra pieces and use a huge table. Or even audiomulch, if you want to turn the lights on and use a pc.
Cool and all, but its just making things more awkward. I still hold the lemur as the greatest piece of technology to do with music. I swear i'm going to get one someday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O70FrnH2JU - using it as a sequencer. Its a touchscreen controller that can take 20 inputs at once, and the sheer amount of shit it can do is unreal.

if you wanted to, you could program 2 splinning platters, a pitch control for each and a mixer in the middle. and then have a sequencer under another layout which automatically matches the bpm of your fake decks, and a couple of effects things too - controlled by an xy that you can actually throw around a little box if you lower the friction.
Oh god I want one so bad.

Matthew herbert uses a lemur live for effects and shit, although he doesnt really go all out.
Seeing as you can edit the interface (even going as far as re-programming all of the functions if you want to get deep) and re-export it, then assign any of your new controllers to anything thats humanly possible, i'd say you can push it pretty far. ...Does anyone want to lend me £2k? http://www.jazzmutant.com/lemur_makeitfityou.php edit: or £1200... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jazzmutant-Lem...QQcmdZViewItem
